Xavier University of Louisiana, an HBCU in New Orleans cancelled United Nations Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield’s address amid student protests related to the Gaza conflict.

The decision to cancel Thomas-Greenfield’s commencement speech was influenced by pressure from students and the community. Students pointed out that she had repeatedly voted against a ceasefire, which contributed to the decimation of universities in Gaza and the loss of thousands and thousands of lives.
