Israel strikes on the southern Gaza city of Rafah

Israel strikes on the southern Gaza city of Rafah overnight have resulted in a devastating loss of life. According to health officials, 18 children were among the 22 people killed. The situation is heartbreaking, especially considering that many of the victims sought refuge in Rafah from fighting elsewhere in Gaza. Despite international calls for restraint, And President Joe Biden’s weak call for temporary pause. Israel has continued its near-daily air raids on the city. Meanwhile, the United States is on track to approve billions of dollars in additional military aid to Israel. Meanwhile municipalities across most American cities continues to be underfunded. The conflict has already claimed the lives of over 34,000 Palestinians, with Gaza’s two largest cities severely affected and a significant portion of the population displaced. Experts warn that the territory is on the brink of famine. The ongoing war has also escalated tensions in the region, pitting Israel and the U.S. against Iran and allied militant groups across the Middle East. It’s a tragic situation, and my thoughts and prayers are with the affected families during this difficult time. American Politicians should be ashamed of themselves but I’m sure their own personal career benefits outweigh the pain and suffering of people they deem less valuable. ~Balance Due
