Don’t Let The Money Make You…

Money does not create the soul; it reveals what the soul has been carrying all along. When a person comes into wealth, people often rush to say, “You changed.” But many times, the truth is more balanced than that. Wealth does not always change a person it changes the room around them. It changes the expectations, the invitations, the requests, the accusations, and the energy that gathers near their table.

The Mirror of Newfound Wealth

Newfound wealth is a mirror. It reflects discipline, generosity, fear, pride, insecurity, wisdom, and appetite. A balanced person understands that increase is not merely financial; it is spiritual pressure. What was hidden in the quiet becomes visible in the spotlight. If humility was present before the money, humility can remain. If ego was waiting beneath the surface, wealth gives it a microphone.

The Discipline of Re-Adjustment

People with newfound wealth often say, “I didn’t change; the people around me did, so I had to re-adjust.” There is wisdom in that statement, but balance asks us to examine both sides. Sometimes the people around you did change. They may have begun to measure your love by your willingness to give, your loyalty by your availability, and your success by what they can access through you. In those moments, re-adjustment is not arrogance, it is stewardship.

Yet the Minister of Balance must also say this: re-adjustment should never become a disguise for coldness, pride, or spiritual neglect. Boundaries are holy when they protect purpose, but they become dangerous when they are used to punish people for not knowing how to handle your increase. The balanced path is to remain kind without becoming accessible to manipulation, generous without becoming irresponsible, and elevated without becoming untouchable.

Balance at the Table of Increase

In the end, money reveals character on every side. It reveals who can celebrate you without needing to possess you. It reveals who expected access more than relationship. It reveals whether your heart can hold increase without losing compassion. The assignment is not to prove that you did not change; the assignment is to make sure that if you did change, you changed with wisdom. Let money expose what is real but let balance govern what comes next.
