When Symbolism Feeds The Hearts Hunger

As Minister of Balance, I have witnessed how easily symbols can awaken emotions that overpower wisdom. I have seen people place their faith not in truth, but in carefully crafted images. A slogan becomes a savior. A logo becomes a doctrine. A public figure becomes larger than life because the symbolism surrounding them is more powerful than the reality beneath them.

This is not a new phenomenon. Throughout history, false prophets have understood the language of symbolism. They know that if they can capture the imagination, they can often bypass critical thought. They wrap themselves in symbols of righteousness, authority, patriotism, prosperity, or divine favor. They present themselves as shepherds while concealing motives that lead their followers away from truth.

The danger is not simply that people are deceived. The deeper danger is that they become emotionally invested in the DECEPTION. Once the heart attaches itself to a symbol, the mind will often defend it, even when evidence suggests otherwise.

Jesus warned us about false prophets who come in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves (Matthew 7:15). Their power does not come from truth. Their power comes from appearance. They understand that symbols shape hearts before they shape minds. 

This is why discernment is one of the most important spiritual disciplines. We must learn to ask: Does this symbol point to truth, or does it merely provoke emotion? Does it encourage humility, compassion, and wisdom? Or does it inflame fear, pride, anger, and division?

Without discernment, people can be led like lambs to the slaughter—not because they lack intelligence, but because they have placed their trust in a symbol that was never anchored to truth.

The tragedy is that false prophets often promise empowerment while leading people into deeper bondage. They promise unity while sowing division. They promise salvation through human institutions, personalities, or ideologies when true redemption can only come from God.

This is why the Lamb of God stands in such sharp contrast to every false symbol created by man or woman. The Lamb does not manipulate. The Lamb does not deceive. The Lamb does not demand worship through spectacle or fear. The Lamb invites through love, truth, sacrifice, and mercy.

When a symbol becomes more important than the truth it was meant to represent, perception replaces discernment.

Fear replaces understanding.

Judgment replaces compassion.

Division replaces unity.

This is how false symbolism operates. It creates emotional certainty without requiring factual evidence. It persuades hearts by feeling true rather than being true

In the end, balance is restored when we stop chasing symbols that elevate human power and return to the symbol that reveals divine truth. The Lamb reminds us that genuine leadership serves rather than exploits, heals rather than divides, and sacrifices rather than conquers.

For every false prophet who seeks to gather a flock for personal gain, there is the Good Shepherd who lays down His life for the sheep.

And therein lies the difference between symbolism used to deceive and symbolism ordained to redeem. The first leads the lambs to slaughter. The second leads them home.
